1. Agreement to Terms

Welcome to Got U ("Got U," "we," "our," or "us").

By accessing or using the Got U platform, including the website, mobile application, and any related services (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms").

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to all users of Got U, including individuals requesting services ("Requesters") and individuals providing services ("Helpers").

2. Platform Overview

Got U is a peer-to-peer technology platform designed to connect individuals who need help with everyday tasks—such as transport, fixing, assisting, tech help, or cleaning—with nearby individuals willing to provide those services.

Got U:

  • Does not perform services
  • Does not employ Helpers
  • Does not supervise, manage, or control services

All services are arranged and performed directly between users.

3. Independent Contractor Relationship

Helpers who offer services through Got U are independent contractors, not employees, agents, or representatives of Got U.

Nothing in these Terms creates:

  • An employer-employee relationship
  • A partnership
  • A joint venture
  • An agency relationship

Helpers are solely responsible for:

  • Their actions and conduct
  • Their tools, vehicles, and equipment
  • Their licenses, permits, and insurance
  • Compliance with applicable laws and regulations

4. Eligibility

To use Got U, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Have legal capacity to enter into binding agreements

Got U reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts at its discretion.

5. Services, Pricing & Time Tracking

5.1 Service Categories & Pricing

Got U offers multiple service categories. Each service category may have its own hourly rate. All pricing is clearly displayed to the Requester before booking.

5.1a One-Hour Minimum Service Charge

The listed price covers the first hour of the requested service. If the Helper completes the task in less than one hour, the full one-hour minimum still applies. Requesters are paying for completion of the requested service and the Helper's reserved availability, not minute-by-minute labor. The base charge is never reduced when a task is completed early. The first 10 minutes beyond the booked hour are grace time; additional time beyond that is billed under the additional-time policy described below.

5.2 Task Start & Completion

A task officially begins when the Helper taps "Start Task" within the Platform.

A task is considered complete when:

  • The Helper taps "Complete Task", and
  • The Requester confirms completion, or
  • The Platform auto-completes the task based on time and activity rules.

5.3 Task Extensions & Additional Time

Tasks are intended to be completed within the originally selected time window. If a task exceeds the booked duration, a reminder notification may be sent to both the Requester and Helper after a brief grace period.

If the task remains active beyond the grace period, the Platform may automatically extend the task in predefined time increments (such as 30-minute intervals), billed at the same hourly rate associated with the original service selected.

By allowing a task to continue beyond the original time window, the Requester expressly authorizes any additional charges at the applicable service rate.

Platform Authority & Dispute Protection

Got U reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to determine:

  • Grace periods
  • Extension increments
  • Time-tracking methodology
  • Billing logic related to extended tasks

These measures are implemented to ensure fair compensation, system integrity, and consistent platform operation. Time records generated by the Platform constitute the authoritative record for billing purposes in the event of a dispute.

6. Payments, Fees & Tips

6.1 Platform Fee

Got U charges a service fee on completed tasks. The service fee is included within the displayed hourly rate unless otherwise stated. The remaining balance is paid to the Helper upon task completion.

6.2 Payment Authorization & Release

All payments are authorized and held securely by Got U upon job acceptance and are not released to the Helper until the task is confirmed complete. Payment is released when:

  • The Requester confirms completion in the app, or
  • The Platform auto-confirms after the applicable review window (90 minutes from Helper marking the task complete).

Helpers are not entitled to payment for tasks that are not completed. If a Helper abandons, fails to finish, or is unable to complete an accepted task, the authorized funds will not be released to the Helper. Depending on the circumstances, a full or partial refund may be issued to the Requester in accordance with Got U's Cancellation & Refund Policy.

If a dispute arises regarding whether a task was completed, Got U reserves the right to review available evidence (including chat records, photos, and platform activity logs) and make a binding determination on payment release or refund.

6.3 Payments

All payments are processed securely through an authorized third-party payment processor (e.g., Stripe). Got U does not store full credit card or banking information. Users authorize charges upon task completion or applicable auto-billing events.

6.4 Tips

Tips are optional and voluntary. 100% of tips go directly to the Helper. Got U does not retain any portion of tips.

7. Off-Platform Activity

For safety, accountability, and dispute protection:

  • Payments and communications are intended to remain within the Platform.
  • Got U is not responsible for interactions, payments, damages, or disputes that occur outside the Platform.
  • Off-platform arrangements may void certain platform protections and support.

8. Prohibited Activities

Users may not:

  • Request or perform illegal services
  • Engage in unsafe or hazardous activities
  • Perform licensed professional services (medical, legal, etc.)
  • Harass, threaten, or misrepresent themselves
  • Use the Platform for fraud, solicitation, or abuse

Got U reserves the right to remove content or terminate accounts for violations.

9. Assumption of Risk

Users acknowledge that services arranged through Got U may involve:

  • Physical activity
  • Property handling
  • In-person interaction

By using the Platform, users voluntarily assume all risks associated with:

  • Personal injury
  • Property damage
  • Loss or theft
  • Interactions with other users

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Got U shall not be liable for:

  • Personal injury
  • Property damage
  • Lost income
  • Service quality
  • Disputes between users
  • Acts or omissions of Requesters or Helpers

Got U's role is strictly limited to providing a technology platform.

11. Abuse of Platform & Enforcement

Got U is committed to maintaining a safe, fair, and trustworthy platform for all users. Abuse of the Platform is strictly prohibited.

Abuse includes, but is not limited to:

  • Repeated or excessive cancellations, no-shows, or refund requests
  • Manipulation of task timing, pricing, time tracking, or payment processes
  • Attempts to bypass platform fees or conduct payments outside the Platform
  • Submission of false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Harassment, intimidation, threats, or abusive behavior toward other users
  • Misuse of the messaging, rating, or review systems
  • Repeated disputes or chargeback abuse
  • Any action intended to exploit, disrupt, or undermine the Platform, its services, or its users

Got U reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to:

  • Investigate suspected abuse or violations
  • Limit or restrict access to platform features
  • Deny refunds, credits, or promotional benefits
  • Temporarily suspend or permanently terminate accounts
  • Take enforcement action without prior notice when necessary to protect the Platform, its users, or system integrity

All enforcement decisions made by Got U are final and binding.

12. Modifications to Terms

Got U may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
