1.3 Location Information

To connect users with nearby helpers, Got U may collect approximate or precise location data and address information for service requests. Location data is used only to enable Platform functionality and is not sold.

1.4 Payment Information

Payment information is processed securely through third-party payment processors (such as Stripe). Got U does not store full credit card or bank account details and receives limited transaction data for recordkeeping and support.

We use collected information to:

  • Facilitate service requests and matches
  • Process payments and payouts
  • Enable messaging between users
  • Provide customer support
  • Improve Platform performance and features
  • Enforce Terms of Service and platform rules

3. How Information Is Shared

  • Between Requesters and Helpers as necessary to complete tasks
  • With payment processors for transaction handling
  • With service providers supporting Platform operations (for example, hosting, message delivery, and support). These providers act solely on Got U's behalf, may use information only to perform services for Got U, and may not use personal information — including mobile phone numbers or messaging consent data — for their own marketing or promotional purposes.
  • When required by law or legal process
  • To protect the rights, safety, or property of Got U and users

Got U does not sell, rent, or license personal data, and does not share personal data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

Notwithstanding anything else in this Privacy Policy, GOT U does not share, sell, rent, or provide mobile phone numbers, text messaging originator opt-in data, or messaging consent information to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. This carve-out controls over any other statement in this policy about information sharing.

4. User Communications

Messages sent through the Platform:

  • Are stored for quality, safety, and dispute resolution purposes
  • May be reviewed in connection with investigations or support requests

Off-platform communications are not monitored or controlled by Got U.

4.1 Text Messaging (SMS/MMS)

The "GOT U Service Updates" program sends only transactional, service-related text messages (for example, an opt-in confirmation, details of an assigned helper, or a change of helper) to individuals who have personally consented on our public consent page. Got U does not send marketing or promotional text messages.

Notwithstanding anything else in this Privacy Policy, GOT U does not share, sell, rent, or provide mobile phone numbers, text messaging originator opt-in data, or messaging consent information to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

  • We collect your mobile phone number, your consent decision, the date and time, and basic technical details (IP address and browser) solely as proof of your consent.
  • Got U uses a message-delivery provider acting solely on Got U's behalf to transmit the messages you requested; that provider may not use your number or consent for its own purposes.
  • Message frequency varies, typically 1–3 messages per service.
  • Message and data rates may apply.
  • You may reply STOP to opt out of text messages.
  • You may reply HELP for assistance.

5. Data Retention

Got U retains personal information:

  • As long as your account is active
